J. O. Oyedokun graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Ibadan in 1991. After several years of experience as a private practicing engineer, he joined the Industrial Training Coordinating Centre in 1998 as an Industrial Coordinator. He is a Member of Nigerian Society of Engineers, Nigerian Institute for Training & Development (NITAD). He was promoted to the grade of a Senior Industrial Coordinator in 2002, to the grade of a Principal Industrial Coordinator in 2006, Assistant Chief Industrial Coordinator in 2010 and Chief Industrial Coordinator in 2014.
Joseph Olukayode Oyedokun coordinates industrial training programme of the following departments:
- Civil Engineering
- Food Technology
- Botany
- Microbiology
- Geology
- Geography
- Wildlife & Ecotourism Management
- Physiotherapy
Aside from the above-mentioned specific duties, J. O. Oyedokun takes active part in the following functions of the Centre:
- Handling of all NUC matters assigned by Director
- Planning for job sourcing by the Coordinators
- Planning for Supervision of students by the Centre and participating Departments.
- Planning of Departmental Representative meetings and linkage with departments
- Planning and coordination of all management meetings
- Coordination of Supervision reports from the Centre and Departments
- Sourcing of suitable industrial training jobs for students participating in SIWES
- Supervision of students on industrial training programme
- Pre-placement orientation programme for potential SIWES participants
- Assessment of components of SIWES
- Issuance of necessary documents to students embarking on SIWES
- Other duties as may be directed by the Director
