Kolawole Olaolu Fasola graduated with B. Sc. Degree honours in Agricultural Engineering at the University of Ife, Ile-Ife, (Now Obafemi Awolowo University) in 1986. He served Oyo State government for several years as Education Instructor (Oyo State Teaching Service Commission). He worked as the Maintenance Manager and also as Petrol Station Manager at U. I. Ventures Limited, University of Ibadan for a few years before joining the Industrial Training Coordinating Centre as a Senior Industrial Coordinator in 2001. He won an award of the John D and Catherine T MacArthur Foundation Grant in 2004. The award took him to University of Waterloo, University of Toronto and University of Guelph etc. all in Ontario region of Canada. He is a Member of Nigerian Society of Engineers, a corporate member of Nigerian Institute of Management (Chattered), and an Associate member of Nigerian Institute for Training & Development (NITAD). He was promoted to the grade of a Principal Industrial Coordinator in 2005, Assistant Chief Industrial Coordinator in 2010 and Chief Industrial Coordinator in 2014.

Job Schedule

 

K. O. Fasola having obtained his B. Sc. Degree in Agricultural Engineering has the responsibility of coordinating industrial training of the three tiers of training of the department of Agricultural and Environmental Engineering. In addition to this responsibility, he is in charge of the following departments:

  1.         Animal Science
  2.       Agricultural Economics
  3.       Crop Protection & Environ. Biology
  4.       Agronomy
  5.       Agricultural Extension
  6.        Computer Science
  7. Nursing
  8. Pharmacy
  9. Wood Products Engineering

Aside from the above-mentioned specific duties, K. O. Fasola takes active part in the following functions of the Centre:

  1. Preparation of Centre’s activities calendar
  2. Oversees the activities of other coordinators and other administrative staff
  3. Preparation of Centre’s annual budgets
  4. Preparation of Itinerary of Coordinators
  5. Sourcing of suitable industrial training jobs for students participating in SIWES
  6. Supervision of students on industrial training programme
  7. Assessment of components of SIWES
  8. Pre-placement orientation programme for potential SIWES participants
  9. Issuance of necessary documents to students embarking on SIWES
  10. Collection, collation and transfer of students’ work report to the departments
  11. Other duties as may be directed by the Director
